1. Who we are

GiveNest LLC (“GiveNest,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the platform at hellogivenest.com. We are a for-profit company that connects verified single-parent families with donors who fund specific needs, paid directly to third-party providers. 2. Information we collect

Information you give us directly:

• Account registration details: full name, email address, and password.
• Profile information: your role (parent or donor), and any additional details you choose to add.
• Need submissions: family story, child’s first name, need category, goal amount, and provider information.
• Identity verification documents: government-issued ID and related information collected through our identity verification provider (Stripe Identity). We do not store raw ID documents — they are processed and retained by Stripe pursuant to their own privacy policy.
• Payment information: card details provided during donation checkout. Card data is processed and stored by Stripe and is never stored on GiveNest servers.
• Photos you upload to your need listing.
• Any communications you send us, including feedback.

Information collected automatically:

• Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
• Cookies and similar technologies used to maintain your session and improve site performance.
• Device information: operating system, screen resolution, and browser version.

3. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account.
• To review, approve, or reject family need submissions.
• To verify the identity of parents applying for support.
• To process donations and pay providers on behalf of funded families.
• To send transactional emails such as donation receipts, fulfillment confirmations, and account notices.
• To improve the platform, fix bugs, and develop new features based on how users interact with GiveNest.
• To prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service.
• To comply with applicable laws and respond to legal requests.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: We use Supabase (database and file storage), Stripe (payment processing and identity verification), Vercel (hosting and infrastructure), and Resend (transactional email). Each provider has its own privacy policy and processes data only as needed to deliver their service.
• Publicly visible need listings: When a family’s need is approved and published, the need title, story, child’s first name, category, goal amount, and any uploaded photos are visible to all visitors. We do not display last names, contact information, or addresses publicly.
• Legal compliance: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GiveNest, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: If GiveNest is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, financial transaction records). Need listings and stories may be retained in anonymized or aggregate form for historical and statistical purposes.

6. Cookies

GiveNest uses cookies to manage your login session and remember your preferences. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from logging in or using parts of the platform.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at just.duvanced@gmail.com.

8. Children’s privacy

GiveNest is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Need listings may include a child’s first name and photo, provided by their parent or guardian, solely to describe the family’s need. If you believe a minor’s information has been submitted without proper consent, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your personal data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of GiveNest after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
